How’s life, bud?

As for me? Well, you know that thing they say? That you can’t have rainbows without rain? That you can’t find happiness without first succumbing to existential hopelessness?

The cool thing about writing is it’s a great way to channel hurt, sadness, frustration, and so on. And politics, it’s a good distraction. You kind of forget that your life is a dead end when you’re hungrily scrolling through Twitter for the latest hot takes on North Korea’s missile launch. Oh, speaking of…

Next month I’m re-launching The Life and Times of North Korea, and the brand new chapter takes you through the 1994 nuclear crisis that almost sparked a second Korean War. I hope to answer questions like: Why does North Korea pursue nuclear weapons? How did the US factor in? And what is the North’s endgame?

WIP banner for the re-launch. Needs a little tweaking but I dig it. Minimalism, yo.

Also starting next month, my push to post one story per week. That’s right. You can now look forward to reading a new story the same way you look forward to watching the latest episode of your favorite tv show. (Except it’ll be nothing like that.)

Something else I’m trying: branching out to Medium. I know, I know; Medium is questionable, but who am I to judge? What I plan to do there is post “bonus” content–bits of flash/short fiction and news commentary that won’t be posted here. Think of it as Patreon, but free.

To top it all off, I’m starting a neat little adventure some of you might be familiar with: writing a novel. I’ll be sharing updates and teasers for it throughout the journey, but if you want some idea as to what it’ll be about… well, you could start here. When will the book be published? That’s a good question.

Disclaimer: The real cover will look much better

So anything fun going on in your life? Do anything adventurous on your blog or in your writing lately? Perhaps there’s a nice piece of news you’re dying to share or possibly rant about? I wanna know!
